We have recently been introduced to a non-profit started by a few photographers that is really a great cause and want to help to support them. Thirst relief international was started by photographers to help provide clean drinking water solutions for those in need worldwide. We will have more information in our magazine that we will be mailing out soon, if you want more information now check out their website at http://www.thirstrelief.org/. One thing we would like to do to help out is donate $50 from every
family portrait in April to help this cause. We are also holding
2 family portrait days in April that will just be reserved for family
portraits to benefit this great cause. The dates are Saturday
April 15th and 22nd, contact us to reserve your family portrait now. We will also provide you with one complimentary 11x14 from the session. Here is PDF with some more info on Thirst Relief International Have a great day, Posted 3/22/2006 at 12:25 PM |

Engagement sessions can be so much fun, I love them. It is always
a nice and stress free time to just let the couple hang out together
and capture the love and their unique personalities. I shot David
and Jennifer's engagement photo's down at the beach this last weekend
and we had a great time. They were so fun to shoot and even ran
into the water (in santa cruz, where it never get's warm). I had
to get some shots of them so chased them into the water, in the end we
were all wet but it was fun to play around in the water for awhile :) Here are a few images: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Mark Award Winning Wedding Photography Posted 3/21/2006 at 7:38 PM |

We are happy to announce one of our prints placed first at this months
PPSCV print competition for environmental category. This was from
Renaldo and Lupe's engagement session a few weeks ago and my favoriate
image from the session. For anyone interested in the technical
details of the shot it was with a Canon 20D and a 15mm lens. The
image was exposed for the sky to let the subjects go a little dark
almost to a silohette, althought I didn't want them to do completely
dark so you could still see some of the detail. The sky was
burned in a little bit after in photoshop but that was the only post
production. The image is titled "They were almost alone" ![]() Posted 3/18/2006 at 10:52 AM |

Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places in California. I
lived up there for a snow season about 12 years ago and loved it.
The air is so clear and I love to snowboard, it is such a peaceful
thing for me to just ride down the mountain with the wind on your face
and all of god's beauty around you. I haven't been snowboarding in about 5 years because things have been too busy with work, since Lisa and I both are self employed it sometimes can be very hard to take time off work and take a vacation. Also Lisa doesn't really like skiing that much and doesn't like the cold so we haven't been up in awhile. Valentines day was Drew's 17th birthday and he has never been to the snow or been out of state so I thought it would be cool to take him up to Tahoe for his birthday and teach him how to snowboard. so we went up with my brother in law Roman and friend Boris a few weeks ago. We rode at heavenly and even though it was before all of the storms we have been having lately and not much snow it was awesome. Since I haven't been in awhile I didn't know how I would do and didn't really bring the camera out a lot but got a few shots of the mountain. After the first run everything came back and felt so natural, I guess it is just like riding a bike. We rode all day until about 3:30 and it was a really great time. Hopefully I can make it back one more time this year, but my schedule is pretty full already so I might have to wait until next year. One of my goals this year though is to make a little time for myself and family to take a few vacations and enjoy what we have in this beautiful country. I have been ignoring my blog for awhile, it has just been a busy year
so far and weddings started about 3 weeks ago so we are now in the flow
of shooting weddings and creating albums. Today I am going to do
some catch up and update the blog with some images and some personal
things I have been up to. Besides showing everyone our
photography and what the company is up to I will also be sharing what I
do when I am not taking photo's. I thought I would start with a recent photo I took of my wife lisa for her website: San Jose Real Estate ![]() We have been married for almost 5 years (May 13th) and have 2 cats. The dog in the photo is her mom's dog we gave her for Christmas this last year. We also take care of Lisa's cousins son (Andrew who is 17 and a softmore at Pioneer High), and my sister michelle lives with us as well so we have a pretty full house. More to come later --Mark Posted 3/17/2006 at 11:49 AM |

Jason and valerie were married on Saturday in San Jose. They had
a beautiful ceremony at the five wounds church on E Santa Clara
street. It is a awesome chruch with so much detail and the
ceremony was great. After that we went over to the Embassy Suites
to take some photo's and got some good shots of the bridal party.
They ended the night at the DoubleTree hotel downtown and it was a fun
party. Everyone had a great time at the reception and we
have some good images we will share with everyone in the next few days. -- Mark Bay Area Wedding Photography Posted 3/14/2006 at 11:49 PM |
