I just wanted to wish everyone out there a happy and safe New Years!  This year for me has been a huge year of change and expansion.  The year just flew by and we were blessed with so many wonderful memories.  Great weddings that we were a part of, families that let us capture their special moments and a wonderful vacation to visit some family in Europe.

Reflecting back on the year, I thank God for all of the wonderful family and friends that we have.  I know that 2007  is going to be a huge year for our business and I am so thankful for the opportunities to come.  We are also looking at expanding into a larger retail space this next year and will need to be hiring on some office staff and help with post production.  More on that to come in the next few months.

I wish everyone a prosperous New Years!!!!!

I am definitely not a fan of the rain and today has been one of those gloomy rainy days.
The only good thing I see about the rain is the hope for some good snow up in the mountains.
I think Tahoe is calling me in January to hit up the slopes.  If anyone wants to get me
a Christmas present, Tickets to Hevenly are always welcome :)

I haven't been posting much lately, just trying to finish up all of our loose ends before the year ends so we can start the new year fresh.  I will try to post some images of what we have been up to soon, we have done  some pretty fun shoots lately but haven't had time to post them.   It has been a great year this year, pretty busy but I am almost caught up with all of our album design and all orders are fufilled so we can start the  new year with a clean slate.

yeah, loving the 5d, it is such a huge difference. I don't think people understand until they shoot with it! I see you got your store up too, awesome. I need to rearrange mine now that I have a 5D. Once a sell my two 20Ds i'm buying another 5D.

Since we are always getting asked what type of equipement we use I decided to put up a list of my faviorate gear.  I will be adding to this list to make it more complete, but started with the most common question, what type of gear do we shoot with.

It looks like Adobe will be releasing a beta version of CS3 this friday!  I hope this comes true since it should make a big speed difference in running photoshop on my Laptop (Mac Pro).

Exclusive: Adobe Systems Inc. on friday will make available for download an early public beta of its next-generation graphics editor, Photoshop CS3, but will otherwise abstain from delivering pre-release copies of other Creative Suite 3.0 applications.

Here is the link to the Apple Insider Article

***Update*** Looks like they announced that it will happen and be available Friday morning for
download.  You can download it if you have CS2 already (they require you input the serial number)
from Adobe Labs site:
http://labs.adobe.com/

Everyone have a great Friday!

Saw the news on DPR.  Installing it on both my Mac and PC at this moment.  The phrase that was somewhere along the lines of "major improvement to Adobe Bridge" is making me giddy with anticipation!

I thought I would post a few fun websites if anyone is looking for a place to take a break from work and play some mindless games.

The first is Yeti sports, which is one of the coolest web games I have seen.  You are a yeti
(abdominal snowman) that get's to throw penguins and other animals around.  ***Warning,
can be a pretty big time waster, don't play at work*** :)

Post your best score in the comments!  See who can hit the pengiun the farthest.

Also here is a site to find out what type of superhero you would be.
I would be the Green Lantern, which I am not sure if that is a good thing or
not but at least it didn't say superwoman   You can click the link to

Here is a shot i really liked from our last wedding.  With the winter season the sun goes down so early and some photographers get bummed because there isn't any natural light.  I think this can present some really cool opportunities to get some unique different looking night photography.  We have been able to do some really fun stuff in November and December with the Christmas lights and other outdoor decorations.

This was taken downtown right next to Christmas in the park.  We also got some really cool shots of the bride and groom riding on the carousel, which was really fun.

I saw this on another blog and love these images so wanted to share the link with everyone.

A bunch of photographers started doing shoots after the wedding day.  Some brides don't know what to do with their dress once they wear it on the wedding day, they don't want to put it in a dress bag forever to be forgotten in the closet so they have a photo shoot doing all of the things they would have loved to do on the actual day but couldn't get the dress dirty.  So they went underwater, in the sand, dirt, etc... all to get some cool images that you just can't get on your wedding day.

Check the photo's out, some of the underwater one's are awesome:
http://www.trashthedress.com/

If any of my past brides want to do a shoot like this let me know and we can set it up, I would
love to do some fun shots.  There are ton's of places around san jose we can go or even over to the beach in Santa Cruz.

Here is another shot of the bride and groom kissing   They are just too cute of a couple!

The reception was at the Crowne Plaza Cabana hotel in Palo Alto.  They have a beautiful stairwell in the front, that works great for photo's.  We also got a few cool night shots in front of the hotel at the end of the night that I will try to post later tonight.

Here is the stairwell in the front lobby:

I wanted to let you and your readers know that Ross-Simons.com, an internet jewelry retailer headquartered in Rhode Island, is holding a contest for couple about to get married. The grand prize is a $10,000 jewelry shopping spree on Ross-Simons.com. Contestants are asked to make creative home videos about their proposal. They can be funny, insightful, serious, awkward or poignant. The only real requirement is that they be entertaining. The promotion is tied into a campaign involving home videos of proposals gone horribly awry, so perspective contestants are encouraged to have fun with the premise.

More details, contestant videos as well as rules and regulations can be found at: http://www.proposalgonewrong.com.

Our original proposal gone wrong video pieces can be seen on YouTube as well:
